...you spend the afternoon decanting and filtering Chateau DL Sloe Gin 2012 ready to quaff on Christmas Eve/ Day ( and also to give to those you really love :) ).
Have to say last year's vintage isn't half bad especially given the dearth of sloes in my usual hunting grounds :(! (and the war injuries sustained in their subsequent collection :0 ).
Nice drop if I say so myself (I had to sample each batch for quality control purposes.... ): ).

I love sloe gin, will be tippling something similar myself, perhaps though a Moulin Rouge Cocktail:

Slug of sloe gin
Half a slug of sweet vermouth (sometimes with Campari for extra bitter)
Good dash of bitters

Over ice!

DragonLady, have you tried making plum gin when sloes are hard to find? Like you, we sometimes struggle to find sloes but our plum tree fruits heavily. Realised that plums and sloes are part of the same family. Quality control tasting(s) are very good!
