Bose QC 25 headphones

Hello everyone,

I know many of you are experts in the headphones department and would like your advice please? I am purchasing for the OH birthday present.

I've done some research and the Bose QC 25s (from what I have read) are the ones to get? Do you agree?

If so, where is best to buy them...at the duty free in the UK or airport in Vegas or just in a shop in vegas? We shall be there over Christmas (yeeeaaahhh!).

Many thanks all.

I bought a pair in Hong Kong last month and love them - some will prefer Beats, Sennheiser etc though so it's down to personal preference I guess.

I'd buy them in the US. Target are selling them for $299 plus sales tax so just over £200. UK high street price £269, Heathrow duty free £249. There is a Bose stand at LAS airport but it's at the domestic D gate satellite so won't be duty free.

Gumshoe, you know EVERYTHING and are far more specific than google!!

Thank you, as always, for your help; very much appreciated. Target it is then.

If you order them online from a respected store for delivery to your hotel in Vegas you'll not have to pay any tax, and most likely will qualify for free shipping, so that would be about £190.

A quick look on Google shows a bunch of good places offering free expedited delivery (B&H, zZounds, PC Richard & Son) - all in at $299.

.

That would only apply if the store in question doesn't have a physical presence in Nevada.

If they do (and it could be a single store) that you have to pay sales tax.

Absolutely, tontybear, hence those three suggestions, which all ship from outside NV.

I'm not sure I'd risk having a parcel delivered to a manically busy Vegas hotel that may well have more than 3,000 rooms! But hey, maybe I'm doing them a disservice.

I've done it a few times, and I've never had trouble - even in Las Vegas once (Mandarin Oriental)!

I just asked at the desk what the procedure was. They said they have hundreds of such guest deliveries a day, and there's a good system in place. The parcel was tracked, with signature upon delivery.

I bought my qc25's in the Bose shop at the North outlet in Las Vegas. $200 plus taxes.
The Bose vending machines around Vegas and in the airport were more expensive than in the outlets.
They are amazing and your OH will love the gift. I wear them around the house and when I'm reading. They've made me nod off on more than one occasion.

I've got QC 15's (I don't know what the difference is). I ummed and ahhed about them due to cost but they are fantastic and well worth the money. They're amazing on planes and I also wear them round the house when doing chores, although I have been know to vacuum a whole room without actually turning the vacuum cleaner on!

lol thats a good one!
my last pair of headphones were a pair of panasonic ones which I got in Tokyo and they costed about £75 at the time. From what you guys and gals are all saying about the bose I reckon I will go for it next time. Been wanting to step it up for a while.

QC25 is just a newer model, replacing the QC15. And yes, they're great.

QC25 are a very good choice for noise cancellation; we use these and Sennheiser PXC450s.

Shopping in Las Vegas:

Bose Suite 414
Las vegas Premium Outlets South
7400 Las Vegas Blvd S
Las Vegas, NV 89123 and

Bose
Las Vegas Premium Outlets North
875 Las vegas

Customer service in the US is second to none; we had Samsonite Black Label cases that were out of stock in the Chicago Samsonite Black Label store located in Denver and shipped overnight, at no cost, to The James.

Ditto artwork to the Ritz Carlton in San Francisco, and MO in Las Vegas.

It's worth remembering that Bose will upgrade your previous headphones or replace faulty units for the cost of the price differential between the models; always stay current!

Drifting away from the subject, the main difference between QC15 and QC25 is that the latter will still produce sound when turned off (i.e can be used as regular headphones) - at reduced volume and quality; whereas the 15s are completely silent unless they (including their NC feature) are turned on.

For those that don't need the minor change in spec, there are good deals on the QC15's in the UK.

http://www.hispek.com/entertainment/aud ... d-5395.php

Mr Marshy has the QC25 and he says he can't hear me one bit when I am asking him for a drinks top up. v(

And even better, I got my local John Lewis to price match hi-spek. I wouldn't usually buy these in the UK but they were needed for a Christmas present, and I wasn't sure the QC25 reviews justified the cost differential. Still love my own 15s...

Hi all

I reply on this topic instead of opening a new one. I am flying to Tokyo in a couple of weeks and I wonder where is best to buy the Bose QC25?
Heathrow airport (from terminal 5, but it seems prices aren't the best there), or Narita airport, or even a normal shop in Tokyo?

Also do you know if the warranty is international with Bose?

Thanks
Thibault

Hope they're still at that price in a week's time!

They are probably still too current to be in the outlet, but it's always worth a try.

I'm interested in outlet prices too. Someone mentioned earlier that they were cheaper in outlet in Vegas?
