What's your job?

The "Where is everyone from?" thread was interesting- Vflyers from all over the world. A true global presence on the forum :)

As a nosey old sod I thought it would also be interesting to see what us Vflyers do for a living. With so many international jetsetters amongst us, I bet there will be a broad range of interesting occupations.

So to start, I am a doctor (GP) so sadly no business travel for me other than home visits around my patch :D I have a trip to Southampton in the summer for an educational event though Whopeeeeee ii)

Yes, the post about where we are from made me wonder about occupations too. What was strange about the other thread, though, was people volunteered the information who hadn't included it in their profile - which I always thought meant they wanted to remain anonymous!
Well - I am retired. :D

I work in a quality control lab for an American owned chemical company. Started in Nov 1993 and worked there ever since (so that will be 22 years later this year) and boy I have seen many changes over those years!!

Yep, I wear a white coat (as well as a pile of other PPE) and pretend to be a mad scientist occasionally - it does help, trust me!!

Another EMEA director here... This time in operations for a 'too big to fail' bank (having previously learnt my lesson from working for one that wasn't...).

I'm self employed and have a couple of things I do. What used to be my main job was Counselling & Clinical Hypnotherapy and I specialised in depression, various anxiety disorders and pain management. I also did some training, personal development type stuff, positive psychology & also trained other therapists for 3 years. Now clinical work is something I do just a little of to keep my skills sharp.

My main work now is running a Case Management firm specialising in rehabilitation in the personal injury sector, mostly RTAs with complex injuries. We're paid for by insurers but we work independent of the claim process trying to put people back together and back to work after the NHS have done their part. I have of a team of 15 Case Managers from OTs to Nurses and we provide work for about 200 therapists.

Doesn't take me travelling internationally (although when I was doing training I used to work in Germany & Switzerland). These days I travel for pleasure.

Sorry, a one or two sentence summary wouldn't cover what I do! :)
