HighFlyer and I had a crazy idea the other day to do a haircut/clubhouse run - put simply just flying somewhere for the sake of it. I know early last year a few people were looking at it via two sandwiched flights over a weekend that involved 4 CH stops, about 15000 miles and 8TP, and 2 trips to revivals.

Now don't adjust your monitor controls, we are thinking of doing this trip in Economy - looking for an empty flight, that is cheap (obviously post 1/3 we will earn 100% on N fares as Au) and sitting down the back. I get my haircut, and she gets here beauty treatment. We don't have to worry about cooking for ourselves, and it may even be fun! Full TR provided by HF of course.

Now are there any other crazy people that are interested? Current thinking is the East Coast, so if any US members want to fly up to visit that would be great, and a mini social will likely envelop.

Of course there will be special edition luggage tags, 'Yes I REALLY did take this flight for the haircut'.

Pair of us will be happy to take in guests to the CH's too!

Thanks,
Richard

I'd be game, but having just resigned I've got to watch the filthy lucre.

If there's a group of us, Y might be tolerable ;) Especially since my hair does need a trim...

There's supposed to be an Edinburgh Festival event in New York soon, so if I can combine the two, I may be in.

I did hear there are some M&M's left over as well.

Certainly M&M's are available and I could probably come up with some fast track passes for immigration

Right I posted this thinking I was going to get abuse, but instead I find there are other nutters out there too. I need to start looking for dates and cheap flights - I think NYC is the current favourite looking at the responses.

Thanks,
Richard

I know I'm new around here, but I'm up for it. As it says in my signiture I could use some TP's over and above the flight I've currently got booked!

I can always recommend a haircut in China. It's a four hour plus experience, complete with head and upper body massage and usually costs no more than two pounds!

But one question. Wouldn't US immigration be a tad confused if we can only give our address as "The Hairdressers" and then we plan to get back on a plane?[V]

Nutters, the lot of you!! [:I]

Since the famed VS020 on 12th November, i think we have all discovered that the heart of a V-Flyer social lies in being onboard our favourite airline, so i guess i shouldnt be surprised at the number of mad people willing to join us on this pointless quest ... but i salute you!!

Seriously, would be great to get a few of us onboard!

Paul - you can spunk the £50 - but you have to forgoe the M&Ms for the privilege :)

Thanks,
Sarah

D*mn! You would have to propose this just as I am about to go back to work and as you can see by my signature I have to fit work around my holiday schedule as it is. ;)

My wife would have me certified!!

So just to get this right tho - you fly out to New York on a cheap return economy ticket, having crammed everyone into the clubhouse using gold cards passes etc then you have a Starbucks or whatever at the airport and check in to come back!!!

I just wonder if you need the UC bar to be moved back to Y for the day!!!!

Its brilliant but mad!!

I'll have the strange substances that R and S are having please!!

Oh and by the way - isnt this subjecty off topic - I was yakking away about chocolate yesterday and suddenly I was moved by a mod - ChuckC got all mardy about me not liking US chocolate I think - hehehehehehe!!!!

Not quite. At the other end one check in then goes to the CH rather than the bar.

chuck was not all mardy as well you know! He merely filed the conversation in the correct place. BTW, where are you from in the UK to use the word mardy - I suspect you hale from near Nick and I.
