Mod Note: This is a split thread; following on the success of the San Francisco Bay to Breakers run/walk this year (see other topic in this Forum) PReiffer has issued an invitation to all V-Flyers so interested to join him for the 2007 event:

One of the papers has now released their write-up - found here. I know a picture's supposed to say a thousand words, but I don't think any of these will ever give the impression Ben and I got when looking down Hayes hill at 50,000 people coming towards us - that was quite something.

Anyway, other than delivering a link to an article, I'm also delivering an invitation. Regardless of intermediate events, Ben and I are going again next year. Anyone else up for it?

(Good incentive : If I can do it, I'd say almost anyone can. The cut-off time is 3.5 hours. That's only 2.15 miles per hour...)

You're in then, Mike? Excellent [y]

Incidentally, I'll be out in Vegas for the week before B2B next year on my birthday (rather handily, for a trade show). I'll then head across to SF for B2B and maybe to take a couple of people jumping from perfectly bad airplanes.

Congratulations! Quite an achievement, especially given the previous days' weather. My son was at an ER physicians' conference in SF (not, thankfully called to duty for the race) and nearly missed his flight back as all surface transport was shut for the race and BART crawled. He says they spent the journey listening to radio coverage of the race, almost like being in a wartime shelter awaiting news of all clear and gave a great cheer when the winners were announced.

Well done!

Telepathicly you see. It's a good event and an excuse to go San Francisco. Come on [^] you know you want to do both B2B 2007 and the San Fran. first Half marathon. [:p]

I know what you typed Dave. It just simply makes sense as you as geophaphicaly the closest (besides sky) so it would only be natural for you to run. And you have over a year to train. Come on. I am sure your wife would love a weekend in SF.

Certainly no offence intended.... I was just commenting that it would be worth coming over to watch the whole V-Flyer contingent take part... especially up that steep hill that Paul described. [:w][:w]
