Just a reminder to all.

We are now 30 days out from the block of rooms at the Strat being released for general sale..meaning that if you want a room there at a discounted rate you need to make a reservation asap.

John also had a free mini bar in his room:D

Update:- Room booked for the the 18th Nov.

Iain,
Bazz is right; it's a beautiful hotel. I used to live around the corner (35 years ago). Pack your walking shoes, though; the hotel is at the very top of Nob Hill.[}:)] Still, the view from the Top of the Mark at sunset is one of the very best in San Francisco.

Good point Iain, still not certain I'll actually be in Vegas after all but if so, the Strat seems like the most cost effective option.

If I don't end up on the VX flight with you my plan is to drop the car at SFO and meet you off it and share a cab to the MH.

I was curiously looking at 'manage my booking' on VA today, and noticed my original seat assignments had changed from 6A/K to 3A and 7K... WTF?

On the phone to VS, and it looks like the VS020 on the 19th is now a config 4, which has thrown all the seat reservations out the window (pretty poorly, if they manage to split a booking over two sections!)

My original seats, which are now labelled 12A/K, are blocked off. As are other random rows. I've put us in 22A/23A for the moment, but hopefully we can reclaim the A section at the airport.

Rows 12,14 & 15 are blocked but 16 thru 19 are open, I have just moved from 8A on the upper deck [Grr] to 16A in the A zone.

I was lucky when I booked about 8 weeks ago it was already showing config 4. I took (and still have) 10K out and 5K back, both of which are on the upper deck.

Steve; we're fast filling up the available Section A seats - why not go for 17K on the return. 15A/K,16A/K and 17A currently have V-Flyers in them; and there's potentially a couple of others to follow.

One slight problem I'm on the VS20 on the 20th not the 19th[:w]

Now moved to 16K so that Pete and Marcus can get seats in the "A" zone, welcome back to the pointy bit Pete.

I noticed that the Westin San Francisco is doing the buy 2, get the 3rd free offer, and has rooms available at the time we're in town. So I've cancelled the Westin St Francis on Union Square, and I'm now at the Westin San Francisco on Third Street.

In doing so, I've managed to upgrade my limited view room to a Grand Deluxe at the Westin and still save myself $100 [y]. Bloody brilliant.

I was supposed to be in Paris the weekend of 17-18 Nov but I now find myself in San Francisco until the 20th and would like to meet up if anything is being organised over the weekend. What's the plan?

Edit: I'm on the VS19 on the 16th Nov - anyone else on this flight?

Hey Strawb,

We're talking of doing the Cheesecake Factory atop of Macy's on the 18th. Fancy that?

The direct flight saves a little hassle in terms of transfers, but I wouldn't want to miss out on the opportunity of flying VX ;)
