A forum for discussion of Social Activities

A very late post - due to poor planning on my part. [:I]

It is the intention to run the usual raffle of Saturday to raise funds for the site and subsidise the social functions that are organised on an irregular basis.

If any of the attendees have any suitable items to donate as prizes lying about their abodes, all contributions will be gratefully received.

All monies raised are ploughed directly back into the V-Flyer.

See you all on Saturday - hope the sun shines, and the river isn't too choppy. ;)

It was a real struggle last Friday, with the strength of the stream and the winds catching your boat. Yellow boards were up at the locks.

There were several smallisj prangs in the Henley area, plus a fairly notable one with one of the smaller passenger cruisers just upstream from Hambleden, which I missed, where it was caught by the wind and came barreling downstream almost sideways until it hit the bank and some trees (some friends saw this).

Cheers,
Mike

Many thanks to all for the very generous offers.[oo][y]

It look like we should be able to raise a good sum, to try and help Pete keep the site's finances in the black.

In time honoured style....

Copy of Vista Ultimate
Copy of Office 2007 Ultimate
Microsoft Bluetooth Desktop Set (Keyboard and Mouse)

Hopefully someone will want them.... :)

Thanks,
Richard

Note: I have to state that they can't be sold as they are obtained via my staff purchase scheme. Winner has to agree to this condition.

You should try and sell some to the people who can't make it. I'd buy a few.

That was the original plan, but trying to keep it legal when you are selling tickets in advance is a bit of a minefield, which I intended to research but never got going with it.

I will try and get something sorted for the next big V-Flyer do. We already know that we have a lot of very generous members who want to help the site. It would probably be nice to combine it with a Virgin charity, but we will work on that.
