Must be something going on in town, because everything seems outrageously expensive or sold out for those few days.

Maybe you need Scrooge (Dave) to the rescue, and see if he can get a decent rate at the Stratosphere for ya, otherwise you'll be sleeping on the Monorail... ;)

It might well be a PM to scrooge then! I'm holding out the hopes on one more option. I know The Comedy Festival is in town on the thurs to sat, but am assuming there must be some big convention those earlier days. Stayed at the Strat for a few days on my last visit, which wasn't too bad, but a bit out of the way if you know what I mean!

Looks good to me I've just had a look at their web site:
Join us for late night dinner or dessert and enjoy fantastic views of Union Square and downtown San Francisco from our heated Terrace! We offer the only outdoor dining on Union Square!

Might have to order a starter and three desserts though[:p]

Yup, it's not exactly centre-strip; but at least the monorail is a block away at Sahara.

The other alternative is to check Virgin Holidays hotel-only. Currently showing availability at New York New York, the Hilton, Wynn and some of the >ahem< cheaper properties. NY NY looks like the best deal, at £279 for the 3 nights.

... and one side benefit to booking through VH is that you get 2 FC miles per pound spent - and that's in addition to any bonus mileage you're getting with the FC Amex card and their current bonus miles promo [y]

miles o'plenty.. that seems like a pretty good deal might go for 3 days there before heading to Ceasers, thanks everyone... combine that price with the $20 trick and I might get a nicer room. yay

As we seem to fairly spread out this time, Wynn-Strat do we plan any meet up time or place on wed / thurs. I suppose cell numbers could be useful.

As I have to work on wed/thurs how about a VF lunch this time, leaves the night free for drinking/sight seeing?

If you are staying at the Strat and decide to do the $20 thing, please don't tell me about it, I don't need that hassle in my life :D

I'm probably going to pick up one of those cheapo pay-per-go phones (poss Virgin), as the roaming charges on Orange just get stoopid. I'll post the number up here once I've got it.

Thursday lunch works, I would think. Iain doesn't get in until Wednesday afternoon (I think), so Thursday would certainly be the better of the two days.

Dave, what $20 thing[?]
I don't arrive into LAS till about 8pm so Dave I will probably see you downstairs at some point. What time does your shift start and what area are you now in:)

Thursday lunch is good for me also, as well as dinner[}:)]

Sounds like a plan - lunch and dinner!

I quite like Spaggos as a lunch location. Anyone else up for it?

Spago isn't showing any availability, but plenty of other choices on OpenTable.com. Caneltto in the Venetian has tables, or if you want to go a bit fancier, Eiffel Tower 11 floors above the Strip at Paris has room too.

Who's in for lunch? Say, 1pm? State your prefs, please ;)

I'm up for that... also anyone fancy taking in a show, I'm going to go see Penn & Teller, maybe Lance Burton or perhaps Phantom and maybe Copperfield along with a load of comedy festival stuff for work.

Lunch 1pm Thursday seems fine also. Not fussed about where. Soooo much choice:D

I don't think I will be attending any shows though. I have had my fill of Celine Devine:D

Already got some shows booked for the first weekend, but might be up for some more during the week.

Dave - would Jenn be joining us for lunch on Thursday, or will she be working? That would be a table for 6, with me, Marcus, iforres1 and Mediamonkey.

Hi,

Cheesecake Factory dinner on Sunday looks good to me. I'll be staying at the Westin St Francis on Union Square so that's very convenient for me.
