How much would I have to add to my paypal payment to cover the commission that they charge, please?

I only use paypal for paying, so am not aware of how much they take off the card holder when transferring the money.

Just spoke with John at Thames Hotel who wasn't ready to give me a room until I confirmed that I know Bazz. He was convinced somehow, and now I have a double room for 23 July.

He hesitated when I said that I was coming over for the VFlyer Social and a bit more when I asked: 'Could I get the discounted rate?'
He then said: 'Well, do you know Mr. B----?' to which I replied, 'Oh yes!' And that did it. Doors opened. Rates were lowered. Room was available. Voila!

Money received. Your figure was correct (46.79) from which PayPal take 3.4% (1.59) plus a flat fee (20p) making total deductions of 1.79.

Pete is hoping to come but may have a clash of commitments, we should know soon.

Those of you requiring rooms at the Thames Hotel are advised not to leave it too long before making your reservation, as we get closer to the date, pressure on them to release rooms from the block reserved for V-Flyer will increase, it is a very busy time for the hotel.

Please confirm your booking early to avoid disappointment. Details are in the opening post.

Single room now booked [y]. When I mentioned V-Flyer, he said 'you're one of Barry Bevan's crowd then?' which I confirmed [:)].

He said payment will be on departure, but he took credit card details to reserve room.

Hi everyone

I'd really hoped to make this social as a late entrant - after all I've almost been living in London for the last two weeks (in Kensington now) and down here next week 19-22nd.

Unfortunately, after much good news on here about weddings and other commitment ceremonies, Himself is no longer a part of the Johnson family and me and the Daught are still getting used to our new normality - so a jolly for me is a bit out of the question at the moment. Also explains a bit about my lack of posting lately too.

Hope you have a really, really good time - have one for me (not just you Michael!) and with a bit of luck we might join you next time.

BTW, I should point out that Satdi 23rd July will be the 3rd day of the 1st Ashes Test. Anyone remember if the hotel bar has a TV in it, as this will serve as further justification for an early start? [:D]
