When you runners are in San Fran doing your 'training' will that include any free time to have lunch or dinner, or hang out? If so I may be able to get there for the 16th/17th but have to fly to NYC by either the 18th or the 19th. Cannot do Vegas due to meetings in NYC on 5/19, 20.

Andrew, Richard, Sarah -- are you coming to SF? Could we meet for dinner on Saturday 5/17?

Get those chicken-legs in training, boy - and start booking them flights....

(If you do, Pete'll be your bridesmaid - we'll even have him wear a colour co-ordinated dress [y])

I am now confirmed on the VS020 on the 26th in 8K (opposite Reiffer)

Looks very likely that I'll be on the UA955 out in F on the 14th.

I'm also doing the Vegas side-trip, from 19th until the 22nd.

It would be rather splendid to spend as much time as possible in the company of my fellow mods; so do try and join in if you can. Running/walking or even spectating at B2B is purely optional!

Chuck - whenever you can make it into town, I'll be around. Will you be back from NYC on the 21st? I'll still be in Vegas until the 22nd, and then I'm not sure what I'm doing until the 26th (other than potentially stalking Reiffer in Santa Cruz).

Hey, whatever floats your boat. I'm not into the kinky stuff though.

Oh. My. God.

(PS - You DO realise that the free access to two gyms next week means we're FULLY getting you in training, don't you?)

And to make sure that we are nowhere near this scene...we will be in the Turks and Caicos islands the week before.

I hear you. Would be great to catch up; haven't seen you since last summer and the dinner after the London Eye.

Right, we are now registered for the race. Dear God what was I thinking!

So there will be a sponsorship page going up shortly so you can sponsor us all to finish the race, even Shaw. Money raised will be going to Virgin Unite, and my employer will match every £ donated so we should be able to raise some decent cash for a worthy cause (and at the misfortune of I).

Thanks,
Richard

IF you're getting sponsored, you BETTER be RUNNING... (ie: NOT 'a quick walk'. First 1,000 finishers get their name in the paper the next morning (it's not hard to do, max was 1:29 last year I think).

I think THAT should be the target for sponsorship - name in the paper. [y]

Fair enough - 1:29 seems do-able to me.

Uhm, the jury is still out on that one. I rather liked the idea of walking (fast!) with Pete and availing ourselves of the mobile Tiki bar. [:D]

Given that i haven't run since, uhm, i was about eight or nine, and that was in the days when as kids we believed that you could outrun a bus or car if you tried hard enough ... lets just say that I'm not going to be 'over confident', but happy to give it a darn good go.

Thanks,
Sarah

Well, one thing's given - Pete ain't doing no walkin'. (He's even bought some new Asics trainers [}:)])

I even have him a jogging partner (who won't be fast)... [:w]

He won't be needing these, then, will he? [:w]

Seriously, I'd bank on him doing a *little* more than 'walking'. Rumour has it, he was even considering dusting off his gym card for the next few months. No point in entering a race if you aren't planning to win, eh Pete? [;)]

To make sure I might just pay someone to follow you all with a large pointy stick with which to 'encourage' you... [}:)]

I shall be doing a brisk walk, and have already dusted off that gym membership card to start getting a little fitter. I have my own personal target to get under 12st by race day.

That won't stop me following the Tiki Bar down Market Street, however... [;)]
