Just about to re-commence my training program for the run.
Tonight is phase 1 - 3 or 4km!
Treatment all booked in CH and really looking forward to the holiday.
How is everyone else getting on with training?
Is anyone else being a lazy as me? [y]

Nope!! [:D]

Did 4 miles last night, 3 the night before (but wasn't in the mood) and will probably do another 4 tonight.

I'm being really lazy. Did my first run on Wednesday at 2.5 miles, and that was hard. Will go again this Wednesday. I know I can do it in an hour and a half so I am not going to stress too much but I'd like to get a good time ... if only so that the post race Margaritas taste that much sweeter [y]

Thanks,
Sarah

For after the race, does anyone want a space blanket to carry? Yes, I know you'll look like a giant Christmas turkey in it, but might be handy for the park if it gets a bit chilly.

I can get them through a 'contact' so no charge.

Ooh I would take one! I was freezing cold last year after the race. Though, if we get that limo with a hot tub to take us back afterwards, we might not need them [:D]

Thanks,
Sarah

On the night of the 13th, if anyone is around, I'll be staying at the Shereton Skyline.

Ok, taking a punt here. Who's booked into what fare code and doesn't already have companions...?

We're companionable fares out, but not home. Could be interesting to find out the difference to move to the next fare bucket [:)]

Hmmm can swap out to the Prescott, the Monaco or the Triton for about 40% less than the Westin St Francis - but are any of them as good?

No points for an opaque booking Decker... shame on you, Nick will disown you....

The Monaco is a lovely boutique hotel! But not where everyone else is staying.....

The Prescott's very very close to the Westin/Union Square - Postrio was its claim to fame but since the Rosenthals upped and left for their own restaurants in SOMA (all very good) it's gone downhill, apparently. Monaco's about a block further. Not as well known of a restaurant in there.

I've always put the Triton a notch below, unfairly perhaps, mostly because of its decor. Obviously haven't been in any of the rooms in these. Really like the location on Green and Cafe De La Presse was pleasant the last time I was there in November. I doubt any of them would be noticeably worse, I'd have to second Juliet's point, and look at whether you want to stay where others are not.

Surely that should read 'I would only have considered it...' [|:)]

In my experience of the Westin last year it didn't matter where we stayed as all we did there was meet in the lobby then go out somewhere else.

We're in our little splinter group over in the Marriot on 4th anyway [:D]
