Definite congrats in order, it was a brute of a day for it, no surprise if it'll turn out to be the hottest day of the year. For all the pre-game BS about no booze, no floats and no nudity, it seemed a bit more OTT that last year, too - chaos on the streets a lot longer than last year, and generally amusing shenanigans going on for much longer. Maybe a correlation with the number of vflyers taking part ....

Thanks guys, it was a truly fantastic day, and much fun had by all.

I'll leave the others to comment on what the crowd thought of the boys costumes as I wasn't with them for the race, but judging by the looks of passers by as we walked down to the start point they seemed to go down very well. Lots of bemused smiles from elderly ladies.

The beauty of Bay to Breakers is that the benchmark for shock value is set very high. We did see a high number of 'swine flu' related outfits, an entire family running in the theme of Star Trek with the baby's buggy dressed up as the Enterprise, people dressed as bees, earwigs, lobsters, sharks and of course lots of naked people. Fantastic! [:)]

Thanks,
Sarah

It was a fantastic event with that certain 'San Franciso Edge' to it[;)]

I will certainly be up for a repeat visit next year[y]

As to the original question, by the number of requests for their photos at the start, I can only say there were a large number of our US cousins who fully understood the costumes

I've had a reply from the timing people. Apparently there are 200 or so unallocated timing tags and they have asked me to post the tag to them to verify my time.

Timing system probably ran out of digits [}:)]

I was wondering if it was down to people who had their pack mailed out to them - everyone that picked up their pack out of our group got a time.
