Hi Richard, what a star you are taking this on - I have only been to York once so am not qualified to make a venue choice, however both menus look good to me. If you need some help just ask.

Hotel de vin ain't that big in York.

The Living Room, if its the same as the one in Leeds should be fairly good.. and more importantly likely to have the room..

I need to know numbers for sure now as HdV have a private dining room available but it only seats 24.

The Living Room's private dining facility is already booked, but they can accomodate is in the main restaurant on 3 tables.

So please reply to this thread if you want to do the dinner, and I will keep a track.

Thanks,
Richard

We will have to stay as a maybe for the dinning at the moment. Large dining parties really ain't my thing, so we might meet up before and afterwards and do our own thing food wise.

Not bothered about private dining at all.

No chance of a gurt big Yorkshire curry?? [:D]

Justin and I are coming too.

Neil - the food at HdV is fine and it's the people on these occasions that make the evening so you will be missed?

Would tend to agree with mcuth, as a small stuffy dining room at the Hdv doesn't really appeal. The Living Room, is better located, open plan, over looking the river and maybe more accomodating for drinks afterwards especially for those not eating with.

Eitherway, put myself & Lesley-Ann down on the list

Hi Mike,

I was thinking more of the private dining room for the sanity of the other diners [:D] We're hardly the most civilised and quiet of groups!

Did think about a curry, but I know certain people aren't big fans of that cuisine so opting for a more diverse choice.

Thanks,
Richard

Agree, sounds like a good choice..[y]

Do we need to decide on which at this stage, or pick from the sets on the day? failing that the 2nd one, aka steak pie & salmon/ fudge cake for mrs NH will be a winner[y]

4.30, bit early but would set things up/ line the stomach for an evening of cross-stitching and domino's

realistically we'd be eating at 5ish, once all organised; hour or so at the table - leaves the evening free to mingle with those not eating?? and get a better look at what splendid tupperware Neil managed to acquire..

We'd be ok for this slot, for the record. unless other options crop up. Sorry even though nearby, don't know york very well..

Hi Richard, sorry to have been slow on the uptake with this one! Please count in myself & Steve for wherever we end up, Living Room looks great. We are happy with any restaurant/food type [:)]

Many thanks for organising and look forward to seeing everyone in York.

Cheers
James

PS: We arrive in York early on the Saturday afternoon.

If 4:30pm is chosen, then we will need to be counted out. I shall still be sat at the KC Stadium and we won't get to York until 6ish.

All look fine, although 4.30 does seem like a silly time to eat just becuase there is availability. I'll be needing a kebab by evening.

Based on the options, and previous I would go witgh HdV (and we can slope off to bed afterwards as we're staying there [:D])

I'm sure Neil can provide the odd kebab on the evening.

Neil, really...such a misanthrope! Go out and party with your mates!
