Short of any offers on other hotels, I think that my fiance and I ([:D]) will be choosing the Travelodge at Farringdon, purely on cost.

Cheers

Yes Michael, it seems that is the one of choice... Think i will go ahead and book it.

It does have a car park, however trying to get a space is another factor.. We are going to drive down, unsure of hubby's work commitments in the morning, so....

I'm going to get the train to St Pancras in the morning as it only takes 30 minutes. I never get any sleep in a Travelodge so think I'll spend the night before at home. [:)]

The last two times I've stayed in a Travelodge were both in Kings Cross/Euston before getting a Eurostar and never slept either time. The beds were not comfortable and there was way too much noise. So I figure I'll get several hours more sleep by just waking up an hour earlier and getting the train into London.

Stay at The Hampshire Catherine and get a short cab ride to St P in the morning.

HG

Is that on the corner of Leicester square?

With you there Tinks - unless you like the non stop groan of the heaviest London traffic can conjur up then this is one of the areas to avoid. Travelodges in London are akin to YMCA (or in that area rooms to hire by the hour if you get my drift)

Stay at The Hampshire Catherine and get a short cab ride to St P in the morning.

Or The Hilton in Angel - a stones through from St P.

Yes - Catherine has stayed there before and liked it.

Or a few stops on the Piccadilly Line straight into St Pancras from Leicester Square.

Very true - never thought of that [y] (I am one of those that lives in London and doesn't use the tube (well once this year to go to Deckers and back)).

I've booked the Ambassadors Bloomsbury on Upper Woburn Place. Nearly opposite Euston Stn and about a 5-min walk to St Pancreas. Had enough of Travelodges last year...

'tis true that the Travelodges at Kings Cross are a bit dire - but the Farringdon one seems to be the exception. I stayed in Farringdon for a week last year while my show was on in Islington, and was pretty disappointed with the Kings Cross Royal Scot when a lot of us stayed in prior to the PCP to Paris - so understand your concerns. However, at 29, I'm finding it difficult to justify anything fancier.
