Okay, I know we don't have 48 hours, but The Independent does some very good guides for short stays in various cities around the world.

If, like me, you haven't done Brussels before - this link, may give some ideas for eating, shopping and cultural fulfillment to occupy the mind and body between train trips. [;)]

Any other suggestions are welcomed.

I think some photo taking at La Grand-Place and the Atomium followed by a plate of frites will be perfect 'cultural fulfillment'!

I had to look up Manneken Pis on Google but I'm sure that in the V-Flyer tradition, some sensible photos can be taken.

Oh I have done Brussels a few times[B)] 7 Irish pubs I seem to recall[:D] And a blue tile in the middle of the square[;)]
It is the only city in the world where I have had to pay to get out a nightclub[:0]

I once almost fell down the stairs getting off a bmi ERJ-145 at EDI returning from a trip to BRU.

Sounds perfect!

My folks live in Belgium so I am happy to do any research for the trip, though if it is anything like Paris last year I think the opportunity to stretch legs, grab some fresh air and take some pictures will be all we really need before climbing back on the fun bus for part two.

Thanks,
Sarah
