I’m sure it will be confirmed shortly but DL are taking over one route until the end of October and then another route from the end of October until the end of the year to help with the issues facing the 787s

Possibly explains the cancelled 137/138 x 2 days. I'm guessing it's this flight that DL will run.

I think you may be right there. Today and yesterday there's an extra DL flight, DL8803/8804 between LHR and JFK, with the same timings as the 137/138. Looks like it's already in effect.

And I've just been told they'll operate the 45/46 and another flight US bound route until the end of the year. Interesting they've chosen two LHR-JFK routes... I guess capacity wise it's a busy period, fall into Xmas and the 767 which has operated the 8803/8804 does seat more passengers.

I do think some advance warnings would be appropriate for passengers, unless they already did to those flying. I'm on the 46 out of JFK next Tuesday and my aircraft has gone from a 787 to a new con 333 to old con 333 to 346. Let's see if I end up on DL..

For Miami, so far, the 5/6 flights are still showing at 789's and the 117/118 flights are now showing as A333's (I think that was a 789 as well previously).

I'm on the 5/6 at the end of Dec coming back home early Jan (in Premium both ways) and it's still showing as a 789 A/C in my booking and when booking new flights.

No, I think the 117/118 has always been A333, certainly not a recent change. I am on VS5 in a few weeks' time and specifically booked VS5 because I didn't want the risk of a UCDS A333.

TBH, as I'm in Premium I'm not really bothered about the A/C type (I do actually prefer the earlier VS117 arrival time into MIA but V Hols had no availability on the flight anyway when I booked this in January) - just as long as I now don't end up flying on DL metal!!

It's Premium economy pax who are going to be the hardest hit by all of this if they do end up on DL metal on any route as they may end up sitting in Comfort Plus seats with most certainly is not Premium Economy (unless DL use the A/C that do have the new International 'Delta Premium Select' Premium Economy seats installed?)

It looks like VS5 has been all over the place in the last few weeks; sometimes a 787, sometimes a A333 and other times a 744! Not sure if planned or if the 787 maintenance has caused last minute changes.

My bos-lhr on Sunday has been swapped from a 787 to 330, which I guess affects in the inbound too! Have to say as I'm in economy I'm rather pleased as it means avoiding the 3-3-3 (or is is 3-4-3) configuration.

VS emailed me to tell me i've been moved from a 137 (an A330) LHR-JFK to VS3 A340 instead. I'm in premium so that makes sense.

I've yet to set foot on a 787 (and haven't been on a refurbed 330 yet) but very nearly all of my flights have been on a 340 :D
