I'm an SVP Sales (Sales Director for the UK folks) of a British technology company that appears American. All my customers are on the West coast of the USA, hence I use SFO, LAX and LAS routes a lot. My company makes us book our own flights, so we have choice who we fly with. I'm Virgin loyal and that has kept me FC Au for the last 7 years. :)

.....another retiree.... after 40 yrs in Local Government in Wales helping small businesses with grants and premises and market towns to survive the never ending struggle to stay alive.

As we frequently used EU funds to operate I benefitted from paid travel to Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany & Italy .

now doing the odd contract as a Consultant whilst also running my home based business of selling French Macarons online and for weddings.

Holidays are what keep my husband and I sane. He can't retire for the next 7 years so collecting the Miles and flying off a few times a year is our 'thing'.

I thought I'd posted on this thread but can't see it so apologies if this is a repeat.

I am a retired police officer who, for the last ten years, has worked for the dark side.
I am a police station representative attending the police station to represent detainees.
Mrs D says I only do it because I like arguing. There is some truth in that but it also pays for the holidays.

Just found the thread - a fair spread of skill sets, and occupations !!

So 7.5 yrs working for her Majesty .... Foreign and Commonwealth Office - (Join the Diplomatic Service, see the world they said ....) 3 yrs in London, 1 yr out of a Military establishments, then 3.5 yrs based at the Embassy in Brussels.

Found out I wasn't a very good Diplomat .... So went and got a proper Job in IT (luckily trained by the FCO for such a role)

Now an IT Consultant for the last 10+ years - selling my services to whomever will have me :-D

I own a business that specialises in lighting and audio visual installation work. Based in Aberdeen I regularly fly up and down the UK every couple of weeks often spotted on an orange or purple aluminium bird. Still mourning the loss of Little Red.
Do at lot of work in the leisure and retail sector. A lot for a major US company. Lucky to get to fly for work to the Middle East now and again where I luv to visit on holiday too. Think LED video walls, sound systems and effects and architectural lighting. Best thing.... Every day is different.

Great to hear everyone's story. Amazed how many IT types we have - # VS website :-O

So followed an interesting albeit relatively short career as an international playboy.
Thank you, blessed vodka.
And now long retired except currently employed as a beautician, hairdresser, nursemaid, exercise manager, chef, general clearer-upper and human slave for three girlie gundogs.
