BA confirm orders for new 777-200 and A320's

British Airways has confirmed an order with Boeing for 4 777-200's and taken options for a further 4. The deliveries are scheduled for 2009 with the further 4 options being available in 2010.
No decision has been made yet on the Major long haul fleet renewal where an estimated 34 plains from the fleet will be renewed.
Boeing won the contract after beating the airbus bid for supply of the A330.
B/A have not disclosed the how much the deal is worth with Boeing.

Sorry i was in a rush to get to a meeting and wanted to brake the news to the forum. I have now corrected the options date to 2010 [oo]

are these 777s 200ER or 200LR. i think that it would be great for BA to fly the 200LR,, then again how would you like to start flying nonstop to australia
