Earning BA points at Tesco

I did think Flying Club was superior to Executive Club, but as as I shop at Tesco I now amass enough points that way to mitigate against the 1.5 miles / earning of the BA Amex against the 2 miles / of the VS Amex. In fact I earn much more miles now by using Tesco, the BA eStore etc. The household account is great and it's status-independence makes VS's Gold only option seem stingy.
David.

David,
Sorry to state the obvious, but whats the crack with Tescos [?] Can you sign up to amass BA miles through your club card..?

See here. It's a good scheme and I've done it for a while to great benefit too!

I have split this thread away from the Going back to BA thread, as I think it is worthy of a discussion on its own.

This is why I am also shifting all my mileage accrual to BA after I get another 3,000 for the CDC on my next Upper upgrade.
There are so many more ways to earn miles as shown here with a great offer from Tesco. It also stops Tesco sending you those vouchers every couple of months which I am sure that they hope you lose and never spend!

It's great to think that by buying that good value bottle of wine from Tesco (rather than VS wines) you get Executive club miles!

ETA - on HotUKDeals it just so happens that someone has said that Tesco are changing their petrol stations policies from next week. They will pricematch any local garage and offer customers double clubcard points indefinately so a great way to get more and more FC miles.

Unfortunately Tesco over the last year have become very mean with extra point offers/vouchers so this once very rich cash cow of miles is nowhere near as lucrative.

Does anyone know how long it takes for the miles to appear in your BA account once you've transferred them from your Tesco card?

Mine have always posted overnight. Some of the guys over at FT have said it has taken as long as two weeks previously though.

Thanks,
Sarah

Longest mine have ever taken is 48 hours but as HF said usually over night.

They haven't appeared in my account yet though to be fair they're probaby having to clear the cobwebs off first as it's been so long since I used it!

When did you convert the vouchers Tink? They do take longer over weekends, so perhaps the holidays have slowed down the process?

Thanks,
Sarah

Only yesterday LOL!! I'm not worried how long they take to appear as long as they do turn up at some point. I have a long way to go to get the miles I want!!

Have just found out though that Austria is in Zone 2 for reward flights so now have to collect another 6000 miles! [xx(]

I tried transferring my vouchers across but for some reason it doesn't want to. My account is registered for paper vouchers not eVouchers. But then on my profile on Tesco Club Card it says 'registered for eVouchers'. Or something to that effect.

What error do you get? eVoucher or paper, shouldnt make any difference. We get paper vouchers with the quarterly statement and they have always credited to Tesco without issue. Are you putting the code in correctly, with the hypen?

Thanks,
Sarah
