For those that potentially may take this service when it starts up later this year, I came across a rumoured interior shot of the layout and seats
here.

Well it certainly looks nice and roomy! I wouldn't say no flying from LCY!
When are they starting this service up or is it on hold for the time being?

I think November is planned and they are currently still going ahead. I did read a subsequent story that said this is still a mock up plan and not confirmed, but agree it looks nice.
Personally, with an office in Canary Wharf it is an option I would consider, though I still prefer the all seats with aisle access layout ...

Indeed - looking forward to an invite for the premier flight and as there will be internet and SMS access maybe the first live/interactive TR @ 39,000 feet !!

Same thing has been going through my mind, although City's recent expansion has rather moved it up the rungs from a tiny regional style airport to something a bit more substantial. Ten years ago when I commuted to EDI once or twice a week, I was on first name terms with the bar staff airside, something I don't think you could achieve now post airside expansion. However I always get the impression that LCY has always bust a gut to get the security queues down to an acceptable wait, unlike BAA where mediocrity and a captive audience mentality rules the day on that score.

Anyone else feel that the prospect of flying the Atlantic on an A318 is a daunting experience ??
Its a bit small isnt it ??
Personally I wouldnt fly the Atlantic on a 757 either & consequently would never fly CO DUB-EWR for instance. Much & all as I would like to try their Business First product. I would feel rather uneasy on a single aisle aircraft for such a journey. It just doesnt feel right to me.
Maybe Im just weird [:(]
