I think this may already have been flagged up elsewhere but just in case it hasn't,
here's a report carried in today's Guardian about BA's reaction to the fall off in premium fare passengers.

Boy are they having a tough time! if they change CW or atleast a further 25% of that cabin to all Y, wont that bring its problems of not being able to fill such a large capacity and much lower revenues?
cheers

Yes was going to say the same thing, plus there was even speculation of a Y only cabin for the LGW fleet, is that really going to solve all BA's problem?
I always thought there business model for depending on club and first only was flawed but now to go economy only surely going from one extreme to the other.
That with the fighting with staff over another 3'500 jobs at risk on top of the 2'000 already cut, plus the fact unions and shareholders are unhappy about the effect of publically admiting to 'fighting for survival' is hurting the airline!
I think there is more to come on the BA front.

Industry-wide
I may have imagined it, but I'm sure I heard there was talk of reviewing the 'green' tax on flights. Apparently the UK is the only country in Europe to have such a thing and it's an unfair disadvantage against AF, LH, KLM etc. etc.

Well if it works for VS (aka removing UC upstairs on 747s and replacing with Y) then why not BA? However, don't forget that the high J seating BA 747s will only go down from 70 to 52 J seats (plus first) - which is still a lot more than a newly configured VS 747 ...

Our recent BA Oz flights were absolutely rammed in CW, in fact every cabin was and the other operating flights on the Oz routes were also.Obviously not representative of the whole network.
