New BA Seating Policy

Hi

I am flying to Australia in January with BA and deciding
what the best way is of getting a seat with some nice legroom!
From what I understand 10 days before the flight you can pay 75 to have an emergency exit row seat. Does anybody else have any tips for getting a good seat?

Hopefully my BA contact can get me into WT+ or Club but failing that
I want to have a back up plan after my friend got back from Japan and
could hardly walk after being stuck down the back, in a cramped seat with the entertainment box infront of her for 12 hours!

Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

That's about it right now, the new seating policy really sucks on these very long haul flights.

Make sure that you check in online as soon as it opens to try and get a good seat - BA do let you select exit seats at OLCI if there are any left.

Thank you both...I just need to decide if I should just pay 75 to
know I have a nice seat or wait till OLCI opens.
I don't mind if I feel bad coming back but when I get there I want
to be feeling as good as possible..lots to do in 2 weeks!

You could always phone to see if they have a decent seat available. If they do, pay, if not, take your chances when OLCI opens.

I think I will take a risk on the outbound and then if I get
stuck down the back as a treat on the way home I will just pay to
pre book an exit seat...I will probably change my mind again between
now and then!

MMB now lets you see the seat map before you pay, so you can decide if you want to pay or wait.

Hi

Thanks for all the responses.

Im going to wait till 24 hours before. Just looked at the seat
map and all the aisle seats that are free have entertaineent boxes.

Q now is Aisle seat with Ent. box or window seat without!

Window, extra foot room and a wall to lean against.
