BMI have had this option for a while, without the need of an app, by sending the boarding pass as a text.

Great for the single traveller, not so if you received all 4 boarding passes to one phone. :w

I've used it on a swiss air flight from LCY to Zurich. It worked well - I liked it.

I use it all the time now when I fly BMI. It can be a bit temperamental with some of the scanners throughout the airport though.

The self-scanning barriers just before security at MAN can be a pain at times.

My only concern with the system is if miles don't get credited, what proof do you have to send to the airline you have actually flown?
