A shame

Just going through a round of booking flights to the US with work, the December trip to NYC is with VA, but sadly the Orlando trip in January was coming in at around £4,500 with VA in UC, but on the dark side, for the same dates was £1,600 in CW. Sadly, work have booked that one for me....

So, I've only flown CW once before to Boston when the VA plane went tech and I was shifted across - does anyone know if the CW product is the same across their fleet? I think I'm going on a 777 to Orlando - no idea what the plane was to Boston.

No, I don't think it is. I think the 767s have an older product. The 744s and 777s have the latest seat.

And there is still a mix of IFE systems, not sure if the LGW fleet have the latest AVOD yet ...

Thanks for that.

But having had a new addition to our family four weeks ago, to be honest I can't wait to get on the plane and get 7 hours uninterrupted sleep.... so not too fussed about the IFE!

Did CW on a B777 back from BDA in Sep, and was very happy with it - bags and bags of leg room in seat config, and a good length bed.

Didn't take any note of IFE - I take my own!

Dragging this thread back from the depths, as the next flights for work have just been booked (NYC in March) and again the dark side have come in at over a £1,000 cheaper than VS for the dates I need.

I'm going to be going back and forth to the states at least another 6 times this year (on top of the two already booked), so for the miles that I'm about to earn on two CW returns, am tempted to stick with them for the future flights throughout the year. I'll sure miss the Virgin flights, but if they're not even in the same playing field price wise, I can see work shifting me to BA on a more permanent basis.

Interesting that's the case this time, I can't really comment on MCO flights, but almost without fail BA and VS are the same price for a J for any comparable JFK flight in my corporate booking system... In fact BA often come out around £50-100 more expensive.

Then again, it's all down to the volume discounts that may have been negotiated. Plus I've noticed that we're generally in I rather than D now, so less TPs and miles (boo).
