BA Business Seat Sale - book by 14 June?

Not on the home page yet, but the rates are loaded for July and August. Some fantastic rates, e.g. Miami in Club World £1100 return, JFK £1200. No sign of any VS price matching yet (but only checked a small sample)

Fare conditions indicate the rates are good for travel up to May 2013, but no rates loaded that far out yet. 42 day max stay, Sunday night minimum stay. Ticketed by 14 June implies that is the last booking day.

Vegas is down to £1900, but that's not as good as the ex-EU sale fare I got last week (£1267 via LIN)

Worth keeping an eye on in case Virgin decide to price match. Availability looks good too.

Just noticed that myself, MCO £1500 and BGI £1600.

I need to book both for this year, waiting to see if there's a VS price match but if not will book BA and bye bye AU status.

I know VS used to launch a sale within hours of a BA sale of this standard... Is the problem nowadays that they are not?

Has BA had a sale of similar quality in the last 6 months,? Because its been a long time since VS has had a basic sale never mind a good one (I'm looking at you last December).

You can view this two ways.

Bad - for the traveller but maybe good for VS if they are selling enough seats without having a sale.

There are some terrific fares there!

I am sure VS will match. Remember, all they need to do is price their lowest fares the same as BA; they can sell (far) fewer such fares if loads are already looking good.

Miami £955 return on BA in club for August and September :0 :0 :0 :0

Well VS had better respond well or it faces a bloodbath of desertion for those left to book!

And EWR for £2,168 in FIRST! Now that's cheaper than a VS flexible PE and the same as the lowest VS J, just to try it, it's worth a Saturday away!

I recall there was a good BA first sale a couple of months ago, that VS didn't attempt to match.

To me its short sighted. They might get those giving in and booking their flights at the expensive price this year on VS, but next year those passengers will be on BA who are proving themselves beyond competitive...

BTW, I know VS doesn't do first, but they didn't attempt to match any of the other fares...

I'll be very surprised if VS fail to put 'their' comparable sale on by first thing tomorrow. I've booked many sale fares on a Thursday over the years.
I hope so otherwise it's BA again for us.

BOS £1,280
ORD £1,430
LAS £1,757
LAX £1,590
MIA £1,100
NYC £1,200
ORD £1,500
SFO £1,640
IAD £1,070

So far - see the VS web site. Book by 14 June, eligible 21 July through 2 September. So more restricted than BA and slightly higher fares too.

Yippee.

These fares by VS and BA are unbelievable, considering they cover the peak school holiday period.

Some real bargins for any folk who had given up on booking a vacation this year coz of the high fare prices and now suddenly some great fare prices y) y) y) y)

Happy travelling :)

Must say I was very happy with that!

The next dilemma is whether to pay £120 each to convert our L fares on LHR-LAX to a Z. If we did this, we would be refunded 2 x 30,000 miles which we used to upgrade to UC. Hmmm!

Seems hardly worth thinking about it - would you buy 30k miles for 120 pounds? Even if you value your miles very low, this seems like a good deal.

Well, personally, I wouldn't think twice, though obviously these decisions play out differently for everyone.
