Remember the Finnair trick to avoid BA seat selection charge
Posted: 19 Oct 2013, 13:01I think it was Penny here on VF a while back mentioned the Finnair trick. I've recently booked two return BA CW tickets. Being a lowly blue in BA Exec Club seat selection costs money, £65 per seat in this case - so £260 in total!
However with Amex Platinum you get comp'd Cathay Marco Polo Gold status which equates to One World Sapphire which equals BA Silver. Remembering Penny's tip I logged on to finnair.com where you can access you BA booking and simply swap out your Exec Club number with your Cathay number. Pop back to ba.com where instantly the "select your seats free of charge" button was showing and all seats now reserved
