Adding an AA reward flight to existing BA revenue booking

Hi all. Have a flight in F booked on BA to ORD. For various reasons, we've decided we want to fly on to Detroit the same day. Ideally I'd like to add the Detroit flight on one PNR. I can get a reward flight with AA booked through BA from ORD to Chicago but, if I call BA to book, will they be able to put it on our existing PNR?

No they can't.

It is possible if done at the same time but not later.

Thanks Tonty..... am going to have a look at VS instead for a DL flight using VS miles since I can't get it on one PNR.

If you book an AA flight out of ORD you will be able to use the lounge before hand, due to arriving on a someday OW F flight. Also AA treat any OW airline flight as if it was one booking in case of delays etc.

Thanks Hamster. That is really useful info since we have started using AA instead of BA (trying their new J cabin shortly to MIA) but we'd already booked a DL reward flight but we have 3.5 hrs to transit so hopefully we'll be ok.
