Seat selection

I’ve booked to fly with Virgin via Expedia, I have Economy Classic but the Virgin app is trying to charge me to choose seats, can anyone help please

Classic should give you free seat selection - whether that is different for going through an agent I couldn't say. Suggest you contact Expedia for an explanation

Which section of economy are you trying to select? I do believe they have preferred seating (to be in line with DL/AF/KL) which means the front sections are indeed chargeable even for classic ticket holders and only the back is free of charge.
