If you are unsure what the various icons are for, if you hover the mouse pointer over the icon. A text box appears telling you what each one does.
As Dave says above, the icon to reply to a PM, is the envelope with the arrow pointing backwards to the left side of the screen (as you look at it.)
Hope this helps
Nick

Thank you both chaps- my administrator at work has great fun laughing at my technological incompetence and is trying to get me to undertake something called an ECDL(??? whatever that may be). However I'm resisting vociferously, but will have to concede defeat at some point I suppose and bite the bullet.

= European Computer Driving License. It qualifies you to undertake absolutely any task on a computer (that isn't remotely out of the ordinary and is generally related to a word processor). [n]
Sadly, ECDL is often offered by 16 year-olds as evidence of their educational attainment, and is about as convincing as my CSE grade B in French from 1976. Sorry!
Best wishes

We won't laugh at you, DragonLady. I promise. Besides, as we are all human, it will not be long before one of us (myself prominently featured near or at the top of the list, as I am supremely "technologically incompetent") will need your sympathy (and lack of laughter), I'm certain.[8D]
