Has anyone else here experienced intermittent problems getting onto this site in the past few days? Maybe it's just my desk/laptop?

Yes believe there have been problems, working fine for a bit but then not, think its the usual server problems! So it's not just you!

Some probs here too, logging on and switching between fora. Perhaps we need a stronger elastic band, or a faster driver (Alonso, maybe

The site does seem to be slower than usual, every now and again this morning.

Likewise, so no, you are not alone. Yesterday seemed to be the worst for me.

This morning I could not even get on to the site I kept getting a HTTP 404 message saying this page can-not be found. Also plenty of occasions where I get the message service unavailable.
Cheers Wayne:)

I've been getting a mix of "server not found" and "service unavailable" messages. Sometimes I'll get the home page and not the forums, sometimes neither.

Sometimes 'service unavailable', but sometimes it just hangs!

I am now starting to get logged out of AOL now when I use the site on both my PC and laptop, or I try to get V-Flyer back using my favorites list and it just goes to google search, but even if I use that v-flyer doesn't show up on the list.
Getting to be a pain in the butt.

Yup! Timeouts, invalid hostname, unable to connect - had it all very frequently this week.

Must say this has been the worst week for problems I have known, the amount of times I have been unable to connect and have had to do actual real work has been terrible[ii]

Yep, I have had problems also - As I am using firefox it is generally feeding back the the server took too long to respond or is too busy

There's another problem, too - if you can actually load the pages, and try to sign in, you may have to try a few times before it works. But then the problem just seems to escalate if you have to log out and try to log in again later.
I noticed it ran fine Wednesday when I stayed logged in for the day, even when I wasn't actively on line. As soon as I logged out, though, it started back up. I just spent 45 minutes trying to get logged back in! The site was working fine this afternoon, even posted without problems.
I was at my wit's end - I lurked this site for ages before I created an ID and paid up! I needed my V-Flyer fix, had to make do with diet Dr. Pepper... a nice drink, but no substitute!

I'm finding the site very erratic at the moment.
Sometimes the page will load, then it won't, then it will again a few minutes later.
Often v-flyer.com/forum wont load but v-flyer.com will.
The other problem I've had a few times is you type your edit, press post and the go to the same "not avaialable" page. Particulary annoying if you yhavn't saved your edit..

Whilst not 100% sure, I'm pretty certain it will be due to the "not so good" server that V-Flyer uses, it has been mentioned in a few previous posts that Pete is looking to move to another server, although it isn't an easy/cheap thing to do - imagine the increase in users (Which is a good thing I guess) has also contributed to the problems.

I keep getting 'Service unavailable' messages [:(!] Must admit can sympathise with Pete about the server problems V-Flyer is having, as had huge problems on my website with our previous server, but now we have changed much much better

I've been getting the same problems and been complaining to the ISP like mad. Even been seeing corrupted files on the server, so I'm beginning to think the server itself is up the swannee.
So, I then spent most of today migrating as much as I could to a new server (not got to the forums yet, they'll be a nightmare!), but hit a big bump in the road when discovering the two servers use different date formats which means a lot of new coding for me [:(]
In the meantime, apologies for the choppy availability of the site. If you see an error, pop off and have a quick coffee for 5 minutes. Try to avoid the temptation to keep pressing refresh, as it clogs up resources on the already struggling server. Ta.

Thanks, Pete. [y]
The best of luck with it all. [oo][oo]
It's been driving me mad tonight, in the short time I have been trying to access the site.

Thanks for the info Pete - it's oddly reassuring to know it isn't just nme or my machines doing weird stuff.
