Subforum suggestion

Just wondering if putting Load Check requests into a subforum of their own would be worthwhile. It seems there are more than ever and almost always don't turn into a discussion so in my view they aren't really worthy of being forum topics proper. They just seem to clutter the main forum.

The usual content seems to be:
Can someone please do me a load check for VS999 00 April 2011
-> A9B9C9D9E9F9G9H9
->-> Thanks a lot

Thoughts?

Great idea. I personally believe there are too many load check requests anyway.

Good idea. y)

Or alternatively a load check sticky prominently displayed with links to Expert Flyer and Flightstats so those who wish to know can do it themselves. Paid up members of VF of course get free searches on EF and Flightstats is free to all. y)

I think that sounds like a great idea. I remember when I joined v-flyer last year and was asking for load checks. Tinks reminded me about expertflyer and I have not looked back since!!

So to separate them sounds like a good idea.

I agree with the suggestion, although I wonder why we never got the loadcheck back in the schedules section?

I recall last August or so, that it "had stopped working", and there was an implicit intention to restore the function.

Has this been abandoned? (For good reasons, I don't doubt, I've just never seen an update).

Sounds like a great idea.

As understand, the no one provides the load check data for free anymore so there is a cost associated.

Thanks HWV, have you found it to be accurate?

I paid subscription to EF as I had understood FS is unreliable?

If it is reliable, I'll definitely opt for that and cancel my EF - all I want is a load check!

Luke :)

Ironically, it is often paid up VF members who ask for load checks

I cannot really say Luke as I don't use it often enough.

While you have the EF sub why not also sign up to flightstats and run a side by side test? ?| Of course, if they are different how will you know which one is correct? ): ):

I don't really have a problem with them. If you see a topic with load check please, just don't click on it if you don't want to read it. :)

They don't really take up that much space on the active topic list. ( I am assuming that even on a separate forum, they would still show up on the active topic list)

As usual ymmv :)
