Database Corruption 7th Sept

Hi All,

Anyone trying to access the site early this morning will have noticed the site went down. This was due to a corruption of the Forum database.

I've done a recover on it, and it appears to be back, but I can't be 100% sure whether any messages were lost during the database repair process. If you posted late last night, double check!

Just curious but how frequently do you backup?

I keep a local backup of all the code, and occassionally back up the datafiles. If disaster hit the ISP, I could recover the site; but there would almost certainly be a loss of some messages.

Is that why the active users record has reset to 7th Sept?

Ooo yes... hadn't noticed that, but it seems quite likely.

Don't know if there have been problems tonight (Sat 10th), but I couldn't get on the site at all for a couple of hours. 8pm - 10pm ish.
