BD5 GLA to LHR June 5th

Ive never encountered a 'bad' flight in all the times Ive had to use BMI to connect, however this was certainly the worst BMI flight Ive experienced.
Arriving at airport, checked-in really quickly (could have avoided tail end of rush-hour traffic through Glasgow had I known I could have done it online), straight through security & onwards to the gate.. Arriving at the gate we were met by a work-site, complete with builders standing around doing pretty much nothing - which along with missing seats made it much more crowded. It was the only gate that appeared to be undergoing work (decor/carpets/etc)- but surely BMI could have used one of the others
Flight itself was over half an hour late in taking off - pilot offered apologies, saying traffic around London had delayed their arrival into GLA & subsequently led to our lateness in taking off - whilst some of the time was made up in the hop down to London, we then had to circle LHR for circa 15-30mins and in all, we touched down in London almost an hour late, the only plus side to which being that we had no hanging around LHR for 2hrs - in fact by the time we made it around to T4, we arrived at the Gate with enough time for a drink before boarding.
The flight itself wasnt the most comfortable, as a man 6ft2 - 6ft3 tall, the leg room was barely adequate. Having used BMI many times over past few years, this was certainly the least amount of legroom I could remember (complete contrast to BMI flight last Oct. where I couldnt believe how much legroom I had!). Had a coffee which the FA nearly spilled over me when setting down (luckily splashed table) - my wife then had a go by knocking over her coke! Didnt mind paying for it though - meant I could have the coffee & nothing to eat , whilst if a snack had been included I might have felt compelled to eat it & then complain about poor airline food LOL.
On the basis of this flight, it is certainly easy to see where many (perhaps all!) of the bad reviews of BMI have come from - although as my first truly bad BMI flight, some reservations will be held for at least 3 weeks until I have the pleasure/displeasure of flying with them again.
