DJ338 BNE-MEL 12 August 2007

Heading home after a very enjoyable weekend of eating and drinking.
Again used OLCI that morning and were allocated 7E&F. Arrived at the airport at 1950 and with no queues at security went straight to the gate. Boarding commenced at 2010 and the flight was not very full so we had three seats.
This was one of their 738s with the new seat back TVs which show Foxtel (Sky) TV. However it is not free $5 on short flights and $10 on longer flights (didnt notice how they differentiated between short and long!) just swipe your credit card and it can be watched until the aircraft pulls on stand at the destination.
Couldnt be bothered to pay to watch TV (pay enough for Foxtel at home) but did notice they showed a rather long ad for VS UCS. Lots of folks eating and drinking (thought they could have put some effort into the presentation though it looked like a piece of steak dropped on a plateful - I mean full - of salad (the type that comes in a bag from the supermarket!).
The trolley came round and it took an eternity to get served even though we were in row 7, they started at the front two girls on either side, but the insistence of giving receipts seems to delay the whole process. Nice touch that she wrapped a napkin around the neck of the wine bottles though. Managed to get a second bottle just before the shop shut.
Landed ahead of schedule, only 5degsC so a bit fresh and were off and in a cab within 5 minutes.
Standard DJ flight. Booked with them as they were the cheapest at time of booking. We have decided that we have no loyalty flying domestically here as we just go for the cheapest fare in both directions.
