VX908 SFO-LAS 24 Feb 09 (first)

The Virgin America desks were easy to find and quickly checked in with a lovely lady who assisted us with our return trip too.
Our 1AC seats were still held for us and boarding passes issued.
Security was very quiet as this was a 1.30pm flight and the international flights weren't checking in yet so the airport was relatively quiet.
Greeted by the pilot on boarding and straight into our nice large first class seats which were divided by clear purple plastic from the cockpit and then main cabin select. Priority boarding was in place but it wasn't very busy so this would not have mattered anyway.
The lady working the front cabin (only 8 seats) said it was her first time doing that job as she had only ever worked the back before coped okay but you could tell she was really nervous and had to read everything from a book while making announcements which came across as very stilted and not very professional.
We were offered a drink and headsets (1 hour flight so a couple of episodes of How I met your mother watched) and a small box containing 3 shot glass sized canapes of salad, lentils and chocolate mousse.
A very bumpy landing into LAS and we had a chat to first officer while waiting for the doors to open who said he was to blame for this. It was his last flight as a 1st officer and said his next would be as pilot and he would try to make the landings smoother.
On arrival at LAS, there was a short walk to the monorail type system with a quick ride to baggage claim. A short wait for baggage and then a long queue at the taxi rank which moved quickly thankfully.
