V-Flyer

After a slight delay at work, had an uneventful journey out to T5 on the underground. Had pre-ordered currency which was from the Travelex counter near Zone B and the fast track security is down at the other end of the terminal! Having got through, went to the North Lounge for a change. Relatively busy, but still plenty of seats and a great view of the landing runay at LHR. Settled down to do some work, with food from the buffet - good selection (and much better than my experience at T3 the week before).

Unfortunately we boarded from Gate 21 - the other end of the Terminal - typical! Boarding was relatively quick (by seat row apparently but no-one ever listens to this!!).

Once on board hot (boiling) towels handed around - at least they were sufficiently wet this time. Little delay but luckiyl it was a quick trip to the runway before departure. Had seat 1A, so good view over T5 and T1/2/3 on depature.

After takeoff, rapid drinks round - went for G'n'T rather than champagne for a change. This being my third CE flight in a week, was expecting to possibly have the same food choices again. However today it was different again - prawns in lobster sauce with pasta, gooseberry fool and cheese/biscuits. Had this with a great chianti and after dinner, settled down to read my book with a vodka/diet coke.

Relatively quick flight and a speedy taxi around Arlanda airport - BA use terminal 2, which is tiny compared to T1. Good view of the plane hotel parked near the entrance....must stop there in the future. Quickly off the plane, but departure blocked as no-one had opened the security doors at the top of the air bridge - how silly. Eventually someone used the emergency open button to let us all out. Hand luggage only, so was out of the airport and in a taxi within minutes. Then remembered how expensive Sweden is - about 40 taxi ride into town.

All in all, a really pleasant flight and the crew were friendly and happy to help!

Sounds like a good CE flight! Pity about all the walking you had to do at T5!

Thanks for the TR good CE flight again glad to hear, 40 for a taxi ride in reminds me why we dont visit!
