QF 671 MEL-ADL 02 Nov 09 Y (J)

I checked in at the kiosk at the airport and was offered seat 2C in Business not economy as per my eticket. Not one to cause a commotion I accepted the seat selection and printed my BP.
Off to the J domestic lounge - through the hallowed frosted glass sliding door at the far end of the Qantas Club ad guess what - identical facilities to the regular lounge - sorry I as mistaken they have different light shades!!!
What a con - food and beverage service the same, seating the same, free wifi the same but access is only granted to those in J or Platinum FFs. Not worth making a separate area for if you ask me.
Proceeded to gate a bit early - no announcements made - and half way there noticed the flight was on final call. Proceeded to walk a bit faster and no queue at the gate and no 'I;m sorry sir but your BP is incorrect and you'll be sitting down the back'- but wait once through the door and turned right the jetway was backed up. And it took a good 5 minutes to get to the aircraft door.
Once on board there were only 7 out of the 12 J seats taken. Offered 'juice or water today' I have no idea what they offered yesterday or indeed are offering tomorrow - but something tells me it might be juice or water! Superfluous use of today - how very un-Australian as they usually like to shorten words and sentences. Dominic MB will vouch for this.
Anyway breakfast had a choice of hot or cold option (only cold in Y). Had a nice fritata with mushrooms and roma tomatoes and two pork sausages. Have to admit it was better than the usual cereal, bun and piece of fruit. Oh and served on china and with metal cutlery, but plastic knife, as no harm can be done with a metal fork.
Thats it - no alcohol - not that I wanted any as I had a busy day ahead - but apart from a bigger seat that was it. Would I pay for it no - for a 60 minute flight its not worth it - but nice for a freebie.
Having said that on the flight back this evening I was in

Anyway its 2210 and I'm sat outside on the balcony as its rather warm and humid here in Melbourne this evening. Its a public holiday here for the Melbourne Cup tomorrow and guess what the forecast is windy cool (20 degs C) and showers. And yes 20 degs C is cool. It was 37 in Adelaide today and 33 here. Oh and yes I am drinking a nice shiraz.
Cheers.
PS and its a full moon tonight.[}:)]
