Just a short report.
After landing in SYD fresh off the VS200 from LHR trundled over to the Air NZ check-in where we were handled very well by the staff for the 9.40 am flight.
The flight itself was only OK, the plane appeared to be a little tired and I still cannot make up my mind about the CC.
Whether its because they couldn't understand my British accent :o) , or not, but on a few occasions I found the CC to be a tad sarcastic?
Perhaps I misunderstood the CC, but as I later found the people in New Zealand to be unbelievably friendly and polite in general think this was a one-off.....
Even though the flight was only 2 hrs 20 mins a meal was served and have to say the food was excellent.
Had a quite delicious mini-tub of ice-cream , so much so that on arrival in Auckland I went out and bought a tub of it from a local supermarket!
For reference it was made by Kapiti Fine Foods (a Kiwi brand) and the ice-cream is amongst the best I think I've ever tasted!
Even though weather conditions were sunny and clear it was a very bumpy flight and the captain came on over the PA system to say that as the turbulence was not allied to any visible weather system he had decided to reduce altitude and start our descent early into Auckland.
This was good news to me as I hate turbulence and the landing that followed was smooth and uneventful.
In summary the journey was OK, but to be honest I had expected better.
The Emirates flight I took a few days later (TR to follow) was superior in every respect (apart from the ice-cream perhaps :P ), and was a lot cheaper too......

;)
