BA218 DEN-LHR 13 OCT 10 (CLUB WORLD)

Had checked in on line - no first class cabin this time, so took 5A (rear facing window at bulk head). Dropped bags off at Club World check-in and then off to security. At check-in, there was a family with two young toddlers checking into Club World......in the mini-cabin behind the gallery. My deodorant under 100mls was confiscated as it was "marked flammable" (like all deodorant) - odd as never had this problem before. The lounge is "club galleries lounge".....although it was very basic. They did have "Fat Tire" beer in bottles - couple drunk in lounge and then couple for bag to have at home. No toilet in lounge / on same floor so had to wander downstairs.
Flight called, wandered down to find that the flight was only boarding club world. Boarded straight away and offered champagne (yes of course) and noticed on demand entertainment. Club World must have been less than 50% full on this flight. Flight pushed back on time although we were wandered about UK immigration strikes may delay us on arrival in the UK.
After take-off drinks were served and dinner order taken. Menu was:
Starters:
Duo of langoustine with rocatta red chilli pesto and roast avocado
Swiss tomato and autumn lentils
Mains
Fillet of beef with truffle butter, mashed potatoes, french beans and tomato confit
Chicken tikka masala with basmati rice and naan bread
Mozezarella gnocchi
Dessert
New York style pumpkin cheese cake with fresh berries
Cheese
I had the langoustines and the chicken tikka masala. Both were very good - we did joke that that was why there was no chickek tikka masala in the lounge at LHR!! Several glasses of champagne washed it all down - a nice dinner all round. Watch "Grown Ups" - very funny and then settled down to sleep.
On waking up, realised TV had changed from on demand to broadcast TV - wouldn't reset. Tried moving seats (twice) and same problem occurred. Annoying, but not the end of the world, as almost back to the UK.
Arrived on time to find that there was no problem in relation to the immigration strike. Baggage off quickly, but unfortunately my pre-booked taxi was late.
Overall a good flight - the Denver lounge was a disappointment, but the service on board made up for this.
