EK38 BHX-DXB 27 MAR 06 (ECONOMY)

It was my brother and my dad along with me that was going. He said that we should be at the airport 90 minutes before the flight, though it should be at least 3 hours for international passengers. Nevertheless, it was no problem. We went to the Millenium Link and we tried to spot some planes but unfortunately, at 8:08pm, it was completely dark.
We instead went into the departure lounge and sat there for about half an hour waiting for our flight to be called, which was difficult as we sat in an area where works were being done. After a while though, our flight EK38 to Dubai was called and we made our way through Door D to Gate 41. The confusing thing was the codeshare, with the mention/show of Sri Lankan's UL2038. I could easily see that the pier was outdated and needs some refurbishments.
We sat in the gate for about half an hour and saw our Airbus A330-200, loading for a 9:45pm departure. We boarded the plane via an airbridge and found our seats in the Economy class. The seating was 2-4-2. I put the forward camera on and we departed off RWY 15, despite before taxiing, I had the feeling that I didn't want the plane to move. It was a very fast and hard takeoff, but once we got to the maximum altitude, it was OK.
Inflight, we had a meal and I had the airshow on the PTV. Unfortunately, A330's of Emirates don't have ICE. I didn't know about this back then, so I just put the airshow on to see where we were going. I slept for a while, and woke up about 6am local time. I forgot to mention the economy was half empty, so there were some window seats. It was morning, on a sunny day, and I sat there for a few minutes before moving back because I was worried about getting told off for not being in the right seat.
It was time to descend into Dubai, with an estimated arrival time of 7:38am. Air pressure was low, so you wouldn't be surprised if my ears had issues. I had the forward camera on the PTV, and saw the touchdown on the runway and looked out the windows on the sides to see the many Emirates planes at Dubai, and what a sight it was!
We disembarked the plane, and went to passport control to check out of the airport for a couple of hours, to stay in a hotel and check out the city, such as going to the beach and shops etc, before boarding an onward flight EK614 to Islamabad, this time on a Boeing 777-200, where we stayed for 4 weeks.
I hope you enjoyed this trip report and please leave your comments and opinions!
