Having left the Gulf coast behind at 7am on a Sunday morning- I arrived into Orlando just before 9am for my 1155am flight down to San Juan.

This was going to be my second experience with Jetblue having enjoyed my first flight with them a few days earlier! Even though I had checked in online, with a bag to check into the hold I joined a line of people which actually moved quickly. The check in agent was friendly and smiley!

Through security which looked horrendous but moved quickly and I was enjoying a Starbucks by 945am.

Boarding commenced at 1125am and having booked ELR (extra legroom seats) meant I boarded first and had the pick of the overhead lockers - the flight was light and ELR was only half full. The legroom is great in these seats, well worth it in my opinion.

The crew offered headsets for $2 each but I used my i pod one's which worked just fine. We were told that the flight would be 2hrs18mins and we would lose the direct-tv signal around 45mins into the flight (so we would not be able to enjoy the 36 channels available) but complimentary movies would be shown.

Take off at 1209pm and meal boxes were made available to purchase for $5.99 which seems a little steep for what you actually get. Drinks and snacks were offered (full cans) and requesting two bags of crisps did not offend the crew who were fine though not as friendly as my first flight.

The blue chips are interesting and actually very good.

The flight made a picture perfect journey down to San Juan passing over the Bahamas before arriving at 225pm. We were then held on the ground for 30mins as the gate was occupied by a flight which had a fault, but the captain kept us informed of progress.

Disembarked into the Puerto Rico sunshine at just after 3pm. A good flight with Jetblue.

SJU was good` - very traditionally Spanish but flashes of the USA!! I liked it when I thought I wouldn't really. The city looked like it was very much worth exploring from the bus tour I did after the cruise- would return.

Great TR!

San Juan is a very interesting city, I would definitely recommend visiting the forts and exploring Old San Juan, but then I think the rest of the city is just a big city ... not a lot that is impressive. However there are some really great beaches to be explored that are only a short drive away. If you want a more "authentic" taste of Puerto Rico, I would recommend getting out of the city. If you want a surfing beach then you want to visit the Atlantic Ocean side of the island (you can easily fly MCO->BQN on JetBlue). And I think a trip to El Yunque should be on everyone's list.

Would agree that some parts are just like any other city. Heard lots of good things about life outside San Juan so exploring a good option I think!!

I didn't get to see very much but what I did see would draw me back, so that is a good thing. Though mosquito's were a bit a problem.

SJ is a great place in the old city, and the island inland especially, up in the hills. The Bacardi tour is fun too.

And another vote for the Jet Blue fan club. Those ELS's are great, especially on the Embraers.

You gotta love those blue crisps! I was given a few extra bags to take off with me when I flew with JetBlue! :D
