UA7654 BOS-ORD 13 APR 11 (ECONOMY)

Aircraft: Embraer 170.
After a nice 3 days in Boston, where we managed to see all the usual touristy sights, plus the Red Sox v Yankees (4-0 win for the Sox), we were off to sunny Florida.
A previous United trip had resulted in a 24 hour delay to the arrival of our suitcase. We were compensated with £150 each in flight vouchers. We used about £80 each for this flight, so it actually cost us nothing. Problem was we had to connect from Boston to Tampa via Chicago.
This first leg was a 6am departure, so we left our hotel around 4.20am having checked in and paid our $25 bag fee online the day before.
Checked in at the bag drop at around 4.50 by a United employee who frankly couldn't really give a monkeys.
Boarded on time after grabbing a quick bite for breakfast. Two female cabin crew and a full flight. Nice modern aircraft and reasonably good seats. The crew were grumpy/miserable/stern, and generally carried out the duties required of them. The two hour flight passed quite quickly with most passengers snoozing.
"Something to drink?" was the only interaction I had with the crew, except for a glare when I asked if I could squeeze past to get to the bathroom.
Quite a bumpy landing in Chicago at 7.45am, with good views of the skyline as we approached.
We had about an hour and a half before our next flight so went and grabbed a bagel as we were hungry!
