This was the outbound flight for a few days in DXB. Overall, we spent two overnight flights in Club World and two nights at the Hilton Dubai Creek (very nice business type hotel, great lounge and very helpful staff).

Anyway back to the outbound flight. We had checked in on line and downloaded boarding cards - needed to drop off one bag at T5. I used the tube to get out there - for once it was running to time and no problems. T5 was pretty quiet and headed off after a little shopping to the South Lounge. Quick shower to freshen up. A little bit of work to do in the lounge and some food to while away the time. The flight was from T5B, so we headed over to use the lounge there.

Boarding started and so we headed down to the gate - most passengers seemed to have already boarded the flight. Departure was on time and after take-off the entertainment was started - there was a very long news programme and it was non-on demand unfortunately. The drinks service was slow, made worse by the fact we were in 13K and 14K.

Dinner on this flight was as follows:
Starters:
Lobster with pink grapefruit and mango salsa

Trio of tomato salad with mozzarella and basil

Fresh seasonal salad with vinaigrette

Main:
Veal kebab with cumin rice and sauteed courgette ribbons with tomato concassee

Salmon with garlic and lemon spinach and sweetcorn chowder

Basil creamed pearl barley with char-grilled asparagus and sun-blushed tomato

Main course chicken salad

Dessert
Caramel salted chocolate layer cake with a coffee joconde and pistachio

Blue Wensleydale and smoked Cheddar with biscuits

I had the lobster and the veal kebab. Both we very tasty - rather oddly both options were listed as "British Airways Classics". The wine options in white today were chablis or sancerre - I had the chablis which was very good. Some port with the cheese and then I settled down for just under three hours sleep. The flight was quiet and I managed to get a decent sleep before they started the breakfast service. I declined as we hadn't long had dinner and we were having lunch with some friends in Dubai.

Arrived a little early and then a longish walk over to immigration, which was deserted and so we were through quickly. The luggage took a long time to arrive - our "priority tagged bags" were certainly "priority unloaded".

All in all a good flight - the menu options were nice and the food tasty. I quiet like the BA club world seat, particularly if you get one by the window as it is very private once the divide goes up.
