V-Flyer

After four wonderful days in Venice and all that eating and drinking it was time to think about heading home. As checked in online (before leaving home) that was one stress out of the way! - woke at 530am so could have a light breakfast and make my way across to the Airport - thankfully as was staying on the Grand Canal that was pretty straight-forward.

Arrived at Marco Polo airport at 0745 to find the check in desks didn't open until 0810 for my 1010 flight - think I did read somewhere check in desk don't open until 2hrs before but not to worry. As it went, the desks opened at 0800 and after a pretty long wait (20mins) I had bag dropped off (no smile or words) and was on my way to security.

Security was tackled well and no delays so through into the departure lounge at around 0830. Time for a quick look around and then through to the dedicated zone to wait. Managed to get myself into a good position to board - ended up on the priority passengers bus which didn't leave the gate until 1000 to take us out to the aircraft. The priority passengers did board first (just) and I was not far behind, grabbing a window seat. The flight was full, a total of 189.

The crew seemed more friendly and welcoming and at 1035 it was airborne back to Leeds with a flight time of 2hrs10mins promised. A good view all the way to the UK, the Alps looked wonderful.

As usual, drinks/snacks, smokeless cigarettes, scratchcards were all offered for sale - rubbish was colected frequently and the crew were pretty jolly.

Good progress updates from the flight deck and passing over lovely Horbury we touchdown at 1124, 6minutes ahead of schedule so 1hr49mins after leaving Venice - superb!

Disembarked pretty quickly but it took another 10mins to get into the terminal as everyone was kept waiting whilst two other Ryanair flights boarded!!

A good return flight and it did what it says on the tin, nothing more and nothing les but pretty good all the same....

Thanks Slinky - thought it was just me but it took me a few mins to get my head around the smokeless cigs - no-one bought them either way....
