Was supposed to be heading back on 14th Oct but family member admitted to hospital so needed to get home. Unfortunately I was sent an iPhone message - hotel didn't have WiFi so didn't arrive for nearly 3.5 hours when I wandered through lobby. Anyway phoned BA silver line at 10:45 local time with departure at 13:10 of the one flight per day back. Ticket non-changeable unfortunately. However one Avios seat at 7,500 miles and £30 as offline booking - only seat on plane! Seat grabbed as frantic packing ensued. Managed to phone reception to delay conference transport as finished packing - had to explain to people why heading home a day early!

Got to airport and went to ticket desk as no ticket arrived even though miles out if account. All ok and could also upgrade to Club for €120 - what the heck. Through security - no computers out which I thought was strange. Through the duty free and to business lounge - more stressful than anticipated for the return journey. On line but still not able to get a clear idea of what was going on at home.

Boarding on time - short walk out to the plane and settled into 5F. Realised when doors shut that 1A/C were empty so moved over. Short taxi and then off into the cloudy sky over Dubrovnik.

After take off service in club was slow - eventually drinks and nuts came out. No hot towels before this. Glass of champagne and a diet coke. Settled down to watch some stuff on iPad. Lunch today was mustard chicken pasta or beef curry. Opted for chicken - actually quite tasty and very very hot! Came with cheese and crackers and a Lily O'Briens chocolate.....no proper dessert though.

Watched my iPad on way home with one champagne and then some diet coke!

Off fairly quickly through immigration. - no IRIS working and then bags to collect. One damaged - typical when in a rush - going to be replaced thankfully.

Thanks for the TR y)

I thought iPhone messages were stored and sent as texts if they could not connect to the recipient phone - looks like some settings need to be changed. Hope the family member is ok.

Ha, only seat on the plane.. upgrade sir? Lol. Got to love BA at times.

Cheers for posting 8D
