i type this from a laptop in the VS clubhouse where I have finaly arrived folowing a bit of a disaster of a morning getting here from AMS where i night stopped to save a bit of money on this trip.

as some of you may have read on the bottom of my last trip report for KL1020 i was awaiting BA423 from AMS to get me to LHR at 07:15.
well after boarding as normal and being pushed back we then sat on the taxiway for a bit before the captain decided that there was a problem with the flaps and so we would procede to a remote stand to be seen by an engineer.
30 mins later they decided to offload the aircraft and re-book all pax on to other flights.
as I was on one PNR i was offered a KL flight to JFK from AMS but as this is my first visit to the LHR clubhouse i refused and asked to be routed with VS via LHR.

the next flight BA429 boarded on time but dur to 2 flights being combined BA seemed to not be able to cope. by the time we were loaded we were 10 mins late and therefore lost our slot. with an ETA at LHR of 10:40 this was eating in to my time in the clubhouse.
we finaly pushed back at 10:40 in AMS and took off shortly after.
the crew on this BA flight were the usual BA standard of hide in the galley as much as possible which is a shame as the crew on my original flight were quite good.
in the flight the meal service was started but as they had merged 2 flights those of us from the earlier flight in club were not catered for and so did not have meals v(

as a point and against HoneyLambs advice i pushed for a meal and then ate a little bit of it just to prove my dissapointment (might regret that later :$ ).

landing was at 11:10 and after a trip through connections i was in the clubhouse by 11:40.

now VS it is up to you and the crew of VS45 to shine and restore my faith in good air travel.

Enjoy your Clubhouse stint Chris, hope it lives up to expectations. Champagne, champagne, ooh breakfast, champagne... you get the idea!

Enjoy your trip I'm sure UC will live up to expectations and do let us know how the ex-AMS trick pans out for you at the end of your trip. Will you route back to LHR via AMS (as in NYC-LHR-AMS-LHR)?

Cheers

I know I was warned but I wasn't going to give up a meal that I was told I wasn't getting.
On the plus side I made it to the holiday inn express times sq before any serious effect.
