Bose Redefine Customer Service

I've had my QC2s for 2.5 years now. A year or so in to my ownership the head band broke. I paid to send it back to Bose. They swapped it out for a new pair entirely.
On my last return from the US a couple of weeks ago the same area on the head band snapped. I called Bose and this time they treated me differently.
They sent me a package through the mail with a UPS return label. I sent my QC2s back and less than a week later I got this via UPS...
"Dear Customer
We have replaced your faulty Bose Quiet Comfort 2 Noise Reducing Headset with the latest version.
You will notice that they are a new fresh colour and have a modified headband. They also have improved internal shielding to reduce interference from external radio transdmitters i.e. Mobile and Cordless Phones etc.
Kind Regards
Bose Customer Services.
Eat you heart out Sony.... (who so messed me around on a Vaio warranty repair...)

Thats excellent[y][y] - It is the type of service you get when you buy a quality product from a quality firm, if only all customer servies departments were like this.

Not bad I suppose, but could do better - 7/10. I would have thought that when they said they were replacing with the latest version they would have given you QC3's, and would have spelt 'transmitters' correctly.

;)
I mean, QC2's are sooo last year[ii] - Right attitude23?

I had exactly the same happen last May (although a different fault). Way out of warranty period, they replaced them with the upgraded QC2's (I had the "original" QC2 model) FOC.
Can't find my original thread though. Still, 10/10 for Bose from me.

Hmmm.... My headband is also broken - I have botched a repair using tape but that too is failing.
Watch this space!

I actually thought Decker meant they had replaced them with QC3's [:I], but you are totally right Jeremy, OC2's are soo 2005 now

Interesting, Andrew. My headband broke on the way back from England. I wonder if this is a design flaw. Anyway, I'll send mine back and see what happens.
Thanks for the encouragement!

ahem I chose not to have QC3s

.
The headband IS a design flaw - hence the mention of a "modified headband". They've replaced that section! Assuming we mean the collar where the band enters? It breaks off leaving the strap "ratchetless".

Lol - may I ask why? For me the OC3s are a hugh improvement on the QC2s, especially the fit/comfort factor.
Edited by attitude23 12:40pm: after Jeremy's post below, I think I have answered by own question, it must be an age thing

, my old man prefers the QC2's also, I don't get it, but hey what do I know!

Quite so Decker, and me too. I prefer to think of my QC2's as retro rather than not fashionable

Didn't you know that it's the original QC1's that are back in fashion now?
Cheers, Howard

Dudes I love being trendy, am sitting right now with QC1s on and they're still great. I take the new Sennheisers on a plane because they're so much smaller ( ... with the new handbaggage rules ... ). But ace service to Bose, mine broke and were replaced no questions asked - wouldn't it be good if this happened all the time ... like BAA saying 'because we totally f****d up during the recent security non-issue, you can now take twice as much hand baggage'!

In making that statement are you not contradicting what you are trying to achieve

LOL [y]. I do wish they would say that!
What are dudes anyway - being greater (note greater which is of course a word with positive connotations) than 40, I really have no idea what it means. Should I be pleased to be called dude, or should I smack the person who calls me it?

Jeremy,
dude
noun [C] MAINLY US SLANG
a man:
Some dude just asked me if I knew you.
[as form of address] Dude, where were you last night?
Jason was one cool dude.
As a young British male (me btw), I would say that dude, was very 1996 and isn't used too often now by my generation, however some slightly older people still do use it, often out of context, and usually end up giving the opposite impression that they were trying to create

. So I would say No, you do not want to be called it and most defiantly you do not want to use it to describe yourself either [}:)]
Neil:)

OK, I won't. In fact we ought to get back to Bose headphones as we appear to have strayed OT. So QC1's, groovy or un-hip?
