calling all early adopters I was just wondering what your first thoughts on Leopard OSX 10.5 from Apple is it worth the cost of the upgrade,any issues, problems. as a recent Mac convert, well three months anyway. I would like to glean any advice from advance users.[:D]

I'm liking it a lot, it's a decent improvement on Tiger [y] A 'splinter thread' started here, but it's probably best to have a seperate one such as this. I'll move it to Travel Technology however, for clarity.

It does cause some issues with Parallels, it appears, but I understand they're working on that right now... [:w]

I'm liking it a lot too, and have had no issues at all. Everything works well for me (including my beloved Parallels [:p], though any issues anyone is having with it should be fixed in a patch, coming very shortly).

Waiting until I return to the UK before I start the process. I do have the DVD ready to go. From what I see on our internal email alias' we have had a lot of early adopters and very little technical fallout.

Well, I'm having a major issue with Parallels, so not sure the patch to fix the minor problems could possibly cover it [;)]

The interface changes are kind of quirky. Missing some important things like the More Info panel in iCal (dumb idea to remove it, methinks); but Time Machine is rather clever, and I'm already using Stacks and Quick Look regularly.

Safari 3.0 is a real improvement - much better performance, and much better support for standard rendering of web pages.

Loving it too. Did a bog standard upgrade on my MBP and all working without dramas. Seemed to be a little sluggish to start with, even after spotlight had done its indexing but seems to be getting quicker with each reboot, or it could just be me going mad.

VMWare works well still as well.

Well I done it just upgraded. bit early to comment but the install worked no problems it did take about hour and half and all my data files itunes all there no problems

Despite the protestations about enhanced security, Leopard has a hole in it's security - apparently it ships with the firewall set to allow all incoming connections!

Got it last Friday at 7pm and am loving it!

Enjoying spaces a lot- very helpful and I would agree with Pete about the new look Safari- much better than the Beta version.

Only little problem I have found is that in photobooth the new backgrounds do not work very well at all but its not much of a major issue and something I am sure they will fix with a software update.

Oh dear, an Apple product with a security loophole! Can't be having that surely!

Well, it always DID ship with 'allow incoming connections' (pre-Leopard), so not really anything *new*. BUT... I agree, it's a bit of a screw up on their part, given the claims of it being more secure than WIntel boxes...

Bought the new 2.2 ghx macbook yesterday and can confirm it doesn't ship with the firewall set to 'allow incoming' I think it's only if you UPGRADE that it sets it to this.

Am impressed with spaces, given the small screen real estate of the macbook compared to my (sadly missed MBP).

Have yet to test it with my bluetooth stereo headphones, but overall, it seems pretty good.

One note: it tooka while to get .mac to snc correctly, but when it did, everything is working, with all my wlan keys, certs for msn corp, etc all working :-)

Not good at all, as it appears to block World of Warcraft ! eek !

I'm slowly getting use to it. Having been (and still am) a commited MS user for years, the brain keeps defaulting to windows mode now and again. Time will tell.

Leopard is great! (And cheap at the student price, $69.00).

well a quick update from me. and yes Leopard is great! time machine,spaces and the funky new dock to name just three of three hundred enhancements according to apple. worth the upgrade me thinks if it goes smoothly as it did for me. but other adopters beware it can cause problems so back up all important data & files first

looks like Apple has released a patch for the Leopard firewall. Have managed to loose the link.

Is part of Software Update. My install now boots MUCH faster so I'm happy [:D]

It wiped all the printer settings for everyone at my company, a warning would have been nice !

Well what can I say. Not that more copies of Vista have been shipped so far than the entire Mac community worldwide. [xx(]

I did read an article that people were getting tired of the ads now and it was actually doing more negative reach than positive.

I actually like this one

BTW...I am an XP user [y]

I'm writing this on vista laptop that has been running nearly 24/7 since May and a part from a dodgy Intel wireless driver, no problems.
