Google Translate app

This one seems to have slipped under the radar...

Google have released the Translate app for Android, iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.

It allows you in type in a word and it will then give you the translation in any one of 57 languages, including from English and into English.

The best bit is that at the touch of a button, it will speak the translation too. I've had a play and seems to work OK but when abroad you'll need a Wi-Fi connection or a inclusive roaming data package as it's not stored locally. I can't speak for the accuracy of it though so beware.....

Best of all, it's free.

Wonder how it compares to iTranslate which does the same and is free also. Been using it for things like asking for a new bathrobe, informing that the sink is blocked.... v useful for notes for the maid:)
