Yesterday whilst in DXB, i read an article in the business pages, which talked about the Ipad 2.

The company in China making them have confirmed that production has been put back due to "production issues" and instead of March the launch will be around June/July 2011

They have stated that the "production issues" are down to apple changing the spec of the device after they had already started production of them

So keep those pennies in your pockets for a bit longer

There's also rumours all over the web that the delay talk is nonsense. And that the iPad 2 (too) is tipped to be launched next Wednesday:

I've got a birthday IOU for the new IPad so really hope this is right!

Almost definitely will be announced at the event in San Francisco next Wednesday. The invitation itself was designed as a page-peel with an iPad beneath a big '2' (coincidentally the date of the launch).

When it comes to new Apple products, they are such badly kept secrets that even wikileaks don't bother.

Hopefully they will be about in May...

Meh, looks nice in White, but otherwise nothing drastic enough to make me run to the shops and spend another £400 I don't think.

Released on the 11th March in the US. Do I buy one when over there?

Now i need a reason to go to the US this year, we weren't; going as we have done every September but looks like i might need to persuade Mrs Chumba we need a holiday, which i don;t think will take much persuading

If only they embraced Flash, I might buy one. Think I'll stick with my Android tablet.

It looks to be an overgrown iPhone 4.

If it had a USB, and flash I'd buy one for sure.

that's not what I meant dear lady and you know it!

Not sure the spec improvement over the iPad 1 is enough to make me want to get one especially if OS 4.3 is available.

Might wait till 3rd generation, by then the competition will have forced Apple to be even more innovative.
